What is the difference from psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental disorders. It addresses the symptoms and causes of mental disorders by addressing emotions, behaviors, and past or present traumas. You can inquire about the possibilities of psychotherapy by calling 116117 or contacting your general practitioner, and you can also always contact 0800/111 0 111 (Telephone Counseling).

Psychological coaching is working with clients in a psychological process to maximize their potential and cope with difficult life phases. We work together to set and achieve realistic goals.

Psychological coaching cannot and should not replace psychotherapy.

Psychological coaching is suitable for strengthening the relationship with yourself.

Psychological coaching is suitable for supporting personal growth in all areas of life.

Psychological coaching can help cope with difficult life situations.

Do you offer therapy?

Goodminds currently offers psychological sessions. All practitioners are licensed clinical psychologists. Our online programs are also developed by clinical psychologists.

Are you psychologists?

Yes. All Happy Clappy Coaches are licensed clinical psychologists. In Germany, this means completing a degree (Bachelor's and Master's) in clinical psychology. Furthermore, all our psychologists are also advanced in the psychotherapeutic training and have several years of work experience in the field of mental health. A good education and evidence-based work are our absolute priorities.

What is the difference between a psychological psychotherapists and psychological coaches?

Psychotherapy in Germany is only performed by psychological psychotherapists (in Germany, this means: Bachelor's and Master's degree in psychology + further training as a psychological psychotherapist).

Clinical psychologists have completed a degree in psychology (Bachelor's and Master's).

Coaches do not need qualifications in Germany. It is an unregulated market. So please be careful and inquire about the training before starting coaching sessions.

There are also other training paths and levels in the field of mental health, as well as well-trained experts in these fields. However, these training programs are not always standardized. Therefore, we recommend primarily psychological psychotherapists for psychotherapeutic work and clinical psychologists (possibly with additional training) for coaching support.

Do you also offer sessions digitally?

Yes, of course. We offer our goodminds sessions face-to-face and digitally. In both German and English.
